RawkinYourSocks: hey there
Sweetdrums1k8m2: hi
RawkinYourSocks: this is liz's friend alyssa, i think we met once or twice
Sweetdrums1k8m2: yea
RawkinYourSocks: well liz recommended that i talk to you, cuz she says that she doesnt feel she can really express what shes thinking too well w/out just yelling or sounding bitchy
Sweetdrums1k8m2: well i have heard what she has to say ............and she isnt changing how i think or feel and i doubt u will either but its nice fo u to help a friend
RawkinYourSocks: sure.... and i dont want to change how you feel
RawkinYourSocks: i just would honestly love to understand where someone like you is coming from
Sweetdrums1k8m2: i take a biblical/christian stance
RawkinYourSocks: i just have one question.... i understand and respect your religious beliefs, though mine may not agree w/ them.... but how do you justify implementing them into our government system
RawkinYourSocks: if we claim we are a secular nation, founded upon ideas such as the freedom of religion for all
RawkinYourSocks: how does something based upon an aspect of christianity warrant a place in our government?
Sweetdrums1k8m2: but if we have freedom of religion why does government and liberals seek to tell the church what they can or cannot preach and wht they can and cannot take a stand for or against
RawkinYourSocks: give me one good concrete example of how the government has stifled the right of christians to practice their religion
RawkinYourSocks: and also please answer my other question
RawkinYourSocks: of how it should be incorporated into a secular nation's government
Sweetdrums1k8m2: our nation was created with god in mind ...........you know "one nation under god"..........the primary reason for forming the us was for religious freedom and everywhere people look relgion is being bashed and walked on
RawkinYourSocks: woah okay sorry but you are wrong already
RawkinYourSocks: our nation was not created w/ "one nation under god"
RawkinYourSocks: the pledge of allegiance
RawkinYourSocks: which includes that statement
Sweetdrums1k8m2: but its the very idea
RawkinYourSocks: didnt come til way after
RawkinYourSocks: i can get the date if youd like, cuz i was just researching this last week
Sweetdrums1k8m2: religious freedom was the primary reason this nation was founded
RawkinYourSocks: sure, religious freedom
RawkinYourSocks: not "christianityville"
Sweetdrums1k8m2: well why is it wrong then to believe what i believe
RawkinYourSocks: so religious freedom is what we should have
RawkinYourSocks: its not
Sweetdrums1k8m2: ask liz
RawkinYourSocks: you can believe homosexuality is wrong
RawkinYourSocks: i already said that
RawkinYourSocks: im asking....
RawkinYourSocks: why you think it should be legislated, if its only grounding is from the rules of one religion
RawkinYourSocks: if we have relgious freedom
RawkinYourSocks: you can hate homosexuality, youre free to
RawkinYourSocks: but other people are free to think its okay too
Sweetdrums1k8m2: thank you
Sweetdrums1k8m2: yes they have the right but its still wrong
RawkinYourSocks: wrong based on your religion
RawkinYourSocks: not based on our set of laws
RawkinYourSocks: do you support the federal ban?
Sweetdrums1k8m2: theres alot of bans
RawkinYourSocks: the federal ban against gay marriages
RawkinYourSocks: do you support it?
Sweetdrums1k8m2: i beleieve marriage is between one man and one woman ..........but im not radical thats gonna go kill homosexuals cause thats wrong . i guess what im saying is yes
RawkinYourSocks: okay you believe marriage is between a man and a woman
RawkinYourSocks: based off your religion
RawkinYourSocks: thus
RawkinYourSocks: you wont be marrying any men
RawkinYourSocks: however
RawkinYourSocks: why do you believe, in a secular nation, an aspect of one religion should be made a law for all people, including those who dont practice said religion?
Sweetdrums1k8m2: because we werent founded to be secular we wrefounded on religion
Sweetdrums1k8m2: see i can argue with u all night and u and i arent goin to see eye toeye
Sweetdrums1k8m2: nd im not changing my stance
RawkinYourSocks: thats so wrong~ you just said that a main reason we were founded was religious freedom~ clarify please, "we were founded on religion".... religious freedom or christianity?
Sweetdrums1k8m2: why do i have to say the same things over and over
RawkinYourSocks: cuz you contradicted yourself
RawkinYourSocks: you arent saying the same thing
RawkinYourSocks: thats the problem
Sweetdrums1k8m2: u will never understand where i come from ............u nd i dont believe the same religion so us not seeing eye to eye is natural
RawkinYourSocks: no thats a cop out
RawkinYourSocks: im sorry
RawkinYourSocks: but im not bashing your religion
RawkinYourSocks: i understand that your beliefs lie in what you read in the bible
Sweetdrums1k8m2: right ........
RawkinYourSocks: but you cant justify its place in our government
RawkinYourSocks: you have yet to refute what ive said w/ any decent concrete information or claims
Sweetdrums1k8m2: and what u say hasnt had any real impact either
RawkinYourSocks: im not aiming for impact, im not dumb enough to think that i can change the mind of a religious extremist
Sweetdrums1k8m2: and im goin to argue with a liberal or christian values
Sweetdrums1k8m2 signed off at 10:49:17 PM.
im sorry religious kids. if you can argue better than this, ill be minorly impressed. sorry but this just reinforces my belief that no one can justify this meffing ban.
