Okay, so, we My Chem fans are all ecstatic about Na Na Na and the upcoming album Danger Days:The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, the crazy larping identities they've manifested on Twitter and the new slang they've either coined or copied into their universe. The Art is the Weapon video is crammed insanely full for 2 minutes - Dr. Deathdefying, the Killjoys, Korse and the draculoids running, hiding, driving, skating, shooting, eating and living out in the desert. Overall, we're given an impression of rebellion - from the lyrics to the imagery to the vocabulary.
Um, but against what exactly? Korse and the draculoids seem pretty ominous but aside from knock Ray to the ground, jump Frank, and grab Gerard's head, they don't really do much. There's not enough time in a 2 minute trailer. Especially not something that would incite the level of full scale rebellion that's implied by pirate radio and that kind of armament. Which leads me to the next question - what would be a win for the Killjoys? Living through another day? Defeating an amorphous system possibly run by Better Living Industries?
I have no idea. I'm bad at this sort of thing.
But if you have any theories, ideas, etc - I'd love to heart them and I know there's other people on my FList and beyond who want to talk about it to. So, I invite a general you to do that here in the comments. Anonymous posting is on and as soon as I figure out how to do it, I'll turn off IP logging as well.
So, tell me, what do you think?
