I had a work meeting today and that went well. Hopefully I'll have a little bit of freelance putting money in my pocket on Monday, god knows I need it. And I'm still looking although I shouldn't be surprised I cant find shit considering the state of the economy right now *sigh*
But I went and saw
Funny People with
ofangoriousone and her roommate and 2 other people I still dont know because of the seating arrangements. It was by far my facorite Apatow movie since 40 Year Old Virgin, mostly because everything since 40YOV has made me just SO uncomfortable. Superbad, Knocked Up, and Pineapple Express all just left me feeling... I dont know. Maybe its because I expected them to be comedies and they were actually dramadeys and embarrassment-squick ones at that. Knowing the plot of Funny People going in was a warning and I wasn't hoping for something funny. I was hoping for a well done morality story with an edge of humor and as that is what I got? I was very satisfied. That said? OMG PLEASE LET THERE BE FUNNY PEOPLE SLASH THIS YULETIDE! There were like twelve ships. My slash goggles were on so tight I thought my head was gonna pop off.
And then I came home, showered and cleaned my room. That sounds meh but that involved going through 3 bags of clean laundry, emptying two trash cans and literally moving two pieces of furniture. It's all good though because now I can finish my laundry (I let it go for the whole month of October without doing one load - PROCRASTINATION! I CAN HAZ!)and go empty the stuff out of my car and wow, is there a lot of stuff. Big awesome squishy round chair on wheels from my grammy's house. She bought it in 1967 when my mom was 9 and when they moved from Birmingham to Boca Raton, my mom called dibs on the chair. And then when I moved, I took it because I spent all my time in bed cause I had no couch or anything and that's about 75% of my problem with sleep - not having somewhere else to be besides bed. SO ITS MINE NOW! One day, I will get it reupholstered because the fabric is 40 years old and tired but it's still my favorite single non-book/laptop item I own and it's the only thing I'd really be upset over if I had to leave it behind in a burning building. Pictures when I put it back together!
Also on my Sunday list - I need to start that Russian paper. 500 words, no compromises. This fucking thing needs to be DONE damnit. I have it and my holocaust paper which OMG is creeping up me and I dont even know *sighs* I can do 500 words tomorrow. I WILL damnit. I want this done by my prime time TV Thursday so I can spend next week on my Holocaust Paper. I'm doing the Sonderkommando revolt in Auschwitz. It has to be 4-8 pages and you're not allowed internet sources so...that one needs ALL next weekend. *sigh* Stop clinging to books, guys. I mean, yes, valuable, and I have no problem with teachers who are like "You need X number of non-internet sources." Fine. Whatever. But none at all? Does that include JSTOR articles and other periodicals that we access through the off-campus library interface? Seriously, you need to be more specific. *sighs more* Anyway.
List. Of shit to do. I've got one. I think its a good thing right?
Last but not least - yall, keep an eye on
allyndra's lj. She's got a story coming out as soon as it gets back from beta that I chipped in on a tiny bit and omg, she's so good. When it does come out, go, praise her. I bullied her into it and she turned out something surprising and amazing. Promise.
