Oh my god. This season is a disappointment.
The fucked up the dynamic. Vince didn't stop E when he moved out. E's a whore with bipolar tendencies. Johnny's getting serious and Turtle's in fucking love. Look, they're all good and I care about them but as
guest_age likes to say "This is not my show."
But there are occasional lines made of gold. Ari and Mrs. Ari's relationship is amazing. Jamie-Lynn and Turtle are cute as hell. And my favorite is:
Ashley: Who is Rupert Pumpkin?!
Eric: It's a...he's a guy I've been seeing. On the side. I'm kidding its Vince's alias.
Where the fuck is THAT Fic? And the episode where E's afraid he's got an STD - where's the AU where actually tests positive for something bad? There's many many train wrecks in this season. I'm not a fan. Where is the fic where Vince asks E to stay and fucks him on the pool table?
But the collasal fuck ups are just too much. There's the Gary Cole character and there's Johnny who is hard to watch and there's E's fucking love life and Lloyd. Oh god LLOYD. The abuse hurts me.
In terms of E/Vince, it's not a good season. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that this is what it sounds like when an OTP dies. E asked Sloan to marry him. She said yes. And Vince has this look in his eyes for a split second that looks kinda like heartbreak. And Vince, Turtle and Drama go off to Europe and Eric chooses not to go. This isn't my fucking show damnit.
I mean, it's good. It's fine. The season is actually really interesting/funny/good etc. I just I feel like I've lost a limb. I'm going to go curl up in a ball and rewatch season 4.
Jesus fuck, boys. You broke my heart. *points at Vince* You especially.
Season 6 lacked pretty much everything I loved about the other 5. It lacked the team dynamic feeling and it lacked the emotional intimacy between the guys and just in general.
That said? OMG Matt Damon you scene stealer.
