Ok, so as most of you know, I wasn't originally planning on going to prom. However, on Thursday, Ellen and I both had to take the AP English Literature Test. After the gut-wrenching three hour long test, We decided to meet at Nonna's for lunch. We got onto the subject of prom as Ellen still didn't have a dress, and was wondering if I knew of any good places to go. Eventually, she convinced me into randomly going to prom with only one day to get all my shit together. We planned a random road trip to Lebanon to shop at Norman's Bridal Shop, and we parted for a breif while for Ellen to take a test back at school (YUK!!). Meanwhile, I sat in the parking lot of Nonna's and called Mojo Pie. Luckily, I got a last-minute appointment w/ Tony for an updo at 2:00 friday. (This was extreamly lucky because ussually I have to make my appointments at least 3 weeks ahead of time, if not more.) I then went to school and waited around to buy a Prom ticket for like an hour. (Mrs. Dilosure decided to extend her lunch break.) After that I met up W/ Ellen and we began our random little road trip up to Lebanon. We got to Norman's about 45 minutes to an hour later, and were both very lucky to find dresses that we were both very satisfied with. Ellen found a short blue one that looked great on her. (It was essential to her to get blue so as she would match her date, Mark.) I found a simple white dress with white and silver beads on it. Orriginally, it would have been 300 dollars, but the lady working there randomly asked her boss if she could sell it to me HALF PRICE!!! It was soo nice of her, and she definatly didn't have to do it. I was soo excited and soo thankful. However, there was one small problem - I'm short. I had to get the dress altered, and the dance was tomarrow. They offered to do the alterations there, that very night. I was amazed! However, they were going to be closing in like an hour, and not only did I need the dress hemmed, but I also needed to get the sides taken in slightly to make the dress more slimming. On top of this, Ellen's dress was ussualy only used for display (ussually they order each costomer the dress from the catalog), and so it had an ink thingy attached very firmly to it. They needed a certain guy with a certain tool to remove the ink thing, who convently wouldn't be in until tomarrow (friday, the day of the dance). We were under strict rules by the school that we had to attend all classes on the day of prom, so picking up the dresses would be a problem. Luckily, I only had one class Friday, and Hanna (my mentoring teacher) told me she was planning to be gone, and not to bother comming. With this in mind I scheduled to have the alterations done that night and the following morning, when at 11:00 a.m. I would pick up both Ellen and I's dresses. We were very lucky and very excited to find such good dresses at the last minute. After that, we drove back to Springfield and began to shop for accesories. By the end of the day, everything was in place. What luck!! The day was soo random and soo fun!
Friday May 6th- Prom
I woke up early that morning and drove back to Lebannon to pick up our dresses. It was...fun. Anyways, after that I drove back, picked up flowers for my hair, drove by Sonic and ate lunch in the car while on the way to my hair appiontment. (LOTS of driving!) I got my hair done complete with flowers and glitter and was very happy with it. I then went home to do a little bit of make-up, then met Ellen over at her house where we changed (with some difficulty) into our dresses. We split up for pictures, then met back up at Izzumi Itackai (I have no idea how to spell it!) for dinner with Hanna and her date, and Olivia and Andy. Afterwards, we walked around at Art Walk for awhile, which was fun, but not as successful as we hoped. After a little mingling at Art Walk, we went to the dance.
Prom was fun and everyone looked absolutly beauuuutifull!!! (Not to mention the food was exquisite!! Chocolatte covered strawberries are my favorite!!) Dancing and mingeling with everyone was really fun.
Afterwards, we all split up and went our own ways. I called Cole, and ended up at a HUGE Drury faternity party. Instead of it being just like one faternty's party, all the fraternity's were having parties, which merged outside on the courts and patios into one HUGE party. It was really fun!! I felt kinda awkward though, arriving in my white prom dress. I changed in Cole's room, but unfortunatly forgot my shoes, and couldn't stand to walk around in my fancy high-heels anymore. (My feet hurt sooo bad from walking around so much and then dancing hard-core for three hours!!) So, I unfortunatly ended up walking around barefoot for the rest of the night, dodging broken glass and such. It was alot of fun though, and the perfect end to my Senior prom!! I went to a HUGE party and got drunk, and met a whole bunch of cool people; What more could a girl ask for?
So that's the end to my random prom story. I'm sure glad Ellen convinced me into going-- I had alot of fun!!!!!!
Craziness!!!!;)
