perhaps i heard you wrong

and assumed thats what you meant

& what you really meant to say was

'i'll love you 'till i'm bored with you'

the months went by and it seemed as if i was your favorite toy

then one day she came along, and you auditioned her for my role

you placed me on the shelf and left me there untouched

until she got bored with you

you picked me up and dusted me off

and tried to love me again

you smiled and softly said

'i'll love you 'till the end of time, or until a better offer comes along
