I made lentil soup at 2-a.m. and it turned out wonderfully. When I bought the lentils a couple of weeks ago, the checkout lady asked me what they taste like. I told her I couldn't liken them to anything and that she needed to try them to find out. She looked at me incredulously and didn't say anything else to me for the rest of the transaction.
On a completely different note--why are most of the people I know so disingenuous? What a bother.
