I will be in Maine for New Year's!!
I'm leaving Seattle very early on the morning of Saturday the 29th, and arriving in Portland around 6 at night (jerk time difference). My friend Chris will pick me up and take me to Camden, where there is a family event that evening. Then, I'm there ALL WEEK, finally getting out of Maine's collective hair the morning of Sunday, January 6th. That sounded disgusting, I apologize.
It's my mom's birthday on the 1st, hence the travel. Plus, I miss you all like gangbusters, and simply can't stay away.
Does anyone know of good New Year's Eve parties? Also, where's the best place to go sledding? The Snow Bowl? I haven't been to Maine in the Wintertime for... uh, like 15 years.
I want to see everybody. EVERYBODY. That means you. Unlike last Summer, I will probably not be working at all. I think the restaurant will be closed, so I won't even be tempted to work.
What this means for Seattlites:
1) I will not be having a birthday party. Too expensive. I'll throw a dinner or some sort of outing together when it gets closer. I'm not that excited about turning 24, anyway.
2) I won't be here for New Year's. So don't invite me to your sweet parties. Or I'll feel sad about missing them.
What this means for Maine kids:
1) Um, we have to hang out. Duh.
I think that's all the pertinent information. I am SO EXCITED! It's all I can think about. This month cannot go by fast enough.
new year's eve,
maine
