I've been really terrible about commenting. I'm in the midst of the pre-release crush at work, and this last week was full of deadlines, with more to come in the next few weeks. But I feel like I'm making progress is my goal to achieve better life/work balance, because I'm getting through this cycle

But I'm confused by Vala's sleep mask, because I thought sleep masks were not supposed to have eye holes.
I assumed it was Vala, once again, not quite getting earth customs. Or she went to bed with a headache. ;)
I also figured out that the flash of inspiration was implanted in Vala's head, not because she isn't smart enough to figure it out for herself, but that she and Daniel both had major breakthroughs almost at the same time. It was just too coincidental and was Sam saying it may take some time to find the planet and it's location and it took minutes. But it does beg the question, if Adria can manipulate people and technology as she apparently can, why now? Why not sooner?
The 'Life on Mars' finale was not what I expected, though I see why so many people were pissed by the conclusion. Correct me if Iim wrong, but when this series ended, the show had not been picked up for a second series. If that was it, I may have been throwing things at the screen.
I do like that Sam thought he was being driven by something larger than himself, when it really was all about him and this thing he blocked out from his childhood. But did he time travel or is he in a coma? I hope we do get answers to that.

Jason Momoa manhandling Joe Flanigan was cute, and I loved that Rodney and John were calling each other on Earth. And Carson's wee baby turtles!

That's probably it. I have very little familiarity with these things; it's sort of a miracle if I make it out the door with my hair brushed. But I did notice that she's filled her quarters with bright, shiny bits of color and wears idiosyncratic pyjamas; it's such the opposite of the rest of the team's utilitarian approach to things, and shows she wants to make a home for herself as well as put the stamp of her personality on her surroundings, so it was a nice touch.
Baby turtles! Doomed baby turtles.

It's like up is down and black is white!

Yeah, that was the issue that raised for me, and I don't think that's what the writers intended.
I didn't realize people were angry at the LoM conclusion. I didn't have a problem with it even if there weren't more episodes, largely because to me, I think, the point of the show is Sam's journey and how he got there is somewhat incidental to that. I thnk he must be in a coma, but he made peace with something from his past, and that, to me, was more important than whether he woke up or whether we found out why he was in 1973.
