I dogsat last night and today while D. and his fiancée were snowboarding in Tahoe. Today I had brunch with M. and his (now) wife at the Market Bar in the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero. They have a big outdoor patio, and since today was one of those picture-perfect, clear fall days where you can count the houses on the hills 20 miles away ( Read more... )

I did read one story and it is fantastic so I want to recommend it to the two or three (?) people on my flist who like the show.

Well, there is Fer and me, who is number three? ;-)

Thanks for the links. I've never read any Farscape fanfic, but when I have time, I may check some out. :)

I know _jems_ is also into Farscape. I'm sure everybody else is like, "WTF?! We friended you for Buffy! Stop talking about the weird show with the puppet aliens!"

I have no idea what kind of quantity or quality is out there, but it does seem like the kind of show that would draw good writers because it's so character-heavy and nuanced. Also, it's obscure enough that I'm hoping it has avoided the teenybopper fangirl badfic that plagues Buffy in such volumes. If the story I linked to is any indication, there are at least a few good writers working in the fandom, and that excites me.

when we weren't pointing and giggling at it, that is

Seriously. That? Is a giant bow and arrow in the ground. And this in a city that has some truly beautiful and remarkable public art. Why? WHY? (Incidentally, what you're seeing in the background is the Bay Bridge, which a good 75-100 feet above the Embarcadero there.)

Nobody is going to truly appreciate the appropriateness of the icon without reading the story. ::pouts:: Oh well. It's not like you've got a novel to write and a family to take care of or anything. :)

Yay! I'm glad you liked it.

I find PWP of the "tab A was inserted into slot B, orgasm followed" variety really uninteresting. If, on the other hand, the writer can use the sex as a way of capturing something fundamental about the interaction between two characters, it can be such a delight, and so much more genuinely erotic than just a descripton of sex. I'm glad you don't think my taste sucks. :)

I love "Scratch'n'Sniff." It's even better the second time because all of the weird, disorienting cuts actually make sense when you know the story. D'Argo and John are the bestest guy friends EVAH!

As for S3 from here on out, I hope your seatbelt is buckled. :)
