Spring came slowly, by creeping inches eroding snow sculptures and restless dreams brought on by the cold. As it was, there happens to be a half melted sculpture of Wittgenstein out on the lawn in front of Miki's place. For all the wear, the straw hat set on its head still looks passing jaunty

When man #1 decides that ducking may be a good idea, Basch slides his hand in an arc over his neck as he descends, so the contact isn't broken, and the other comes down, his hands ending up instead gripping him by the scruff. He's forced to kneel a bit, too, which only makes it easier to spring up and slam his knee into the man's face while holding his assailant down. It should be noted to be crouching in front of him is a bad idea, which they probably would have learned if they were present earlier in the night.
After this hopefully incapacitating or distracting blow, his eyes immediately go to the other man, and he steps back a pace. He's watching him as if waiting for him to come forward to make a monumental mistake as well -- except this time, if the mountain won't come to the molehill, it appears the other might just have to happen in its stead.
Elsewhere, Miki and Nikki seem to not be meeting much resistance rather than lanky 20-somethings who have obviously never been in a real fight. There are a few people attempting to shove Nikki around, but most are steering clear of Miki with looks of o_O. It should also be noted they're being much more careful with their blows around the fiddle case.

Shit man, that was harsh.
The first kid is making some sort of confused burbling noises, but isn’t making much in the way of a motion to keep this show going. Likely for the best, that.
Having had enough of the bouncing about, Nikki musters up a good shove, knocking a couple of the 20 somethings into each other which seems to break up what little heart they have left. There’s some half hearted punching going on as Miki and Nikki pull through, closer to the door and looking dead set on leaving, much in the time frame of now. Or preferably, a few minutes ago.

...well, after a moment, there's another man hastily retreating from the bar, walking quickly but trying to not attract attention to himself that running would no doubt garner. It's a full three beats from the time he rushes out the door to when Basch appears from the crowd, striding after him with steady purposefulness, and out the door as well. If either of the kids have seen a Jason Voorhees movie, there are some creepy parallels at work.

Outside, the woman who'd been acting as bouncer earlier is leaning against the wall, taking a drag off a smoke and trying desperately not to rub at what's going to be something of a shiner in about an hour or so. Catching sight of Miki, she nods and tosses off a small sort of shrug.
Man two is about twenty or so paces from the door, and hasn't quite worked up the never to bolt. Seems the crowd is a bit more reassuring at current time.

The wind's starting to pick up a little, and the breeze feels nice on his injuries. He's got half a mind to outrun that ill-developed piece of trash and beat his head against a wall in some abandoned alley, but Basch considers himself a better man than that.
So, he waits, peering back over his shoulder when they approach.

Miki's rolling her shoulder, getting some rather interesting noises out of it, and giving Nikki something of a dirty look. Seems as though someone's fessed up to being the catalyst for all of this, and that there will be retributive coffee cake, dammit.
"Right, yes baked goods." It's a lovely sort of thing, being able to buy one's friends off with pastry, and it's something that Nikki has no qualms about taking of advantage of. Catching a better look at Basch he stops, brow arced, "Man, I didn't see you catch it in the face.
That brings Miki to a quick stop, shoulder catching in mid-roll, "....ouch." There'll be time to set her shoulder right later, for the moment she reaches over and snags a sleeve on his jacket, casting a glance at the kid who's making his way quickly across the street.

"I was kind enough to catch that fist you dodged," he laughs a little, sticking his arm out a touch to better facilitate sleeve-nabbing, hands still in his pockets. He's quiet another moment, then sighs a little.
"Are you both alright?"

To the latter Nikki nods, all he's picked up are some scrapes and bruises, though the one directly on his arse might cause him some trouble later on. Miki nods as well before pausing, there's a tentative roll of the shoulder which produces a lovely set of slick sound pops. "Think I'll need to have that popped back in proper, but aside from that?" This time, she's careful to shrug with the arm that doesn't produce its own beat track.
"Yourself?"

"I'm sorry about your gig, Miki." It still sounds like a foreign word, coming out of him, even though it's used correctly. He's begun eying that shoulder, a little uncertain. "I'll make it up to you."
Which reminds him, he still has gifting to do. But whether it should wait until a time where they're not bleeding... that's the question.

She waves the apology off, shooting Nikki a glare that's passing playful before knocking her case into his bum. "Nothing to make up for, except on my end. Think I rather owe you tickets to another show." As shit, only getting three songs into a set isn't really dick all.
Having fallen behind, Nikki's kicking a bottle along stooping for a moment to pick up a discarded super-ball. Score!

"Well... what was heard of it was excellent." He says, amusedly eying the Nikki-antics. "You're a talented lot, to be sure."
As they head back in the direction of Miki's home, there are a few mental notes -- "does blood wash out of this strange blue fabric?" is just one -- that ebb with the flow of conversation. If you could say one thing about her company, things were rarely boring, certainly.

Offering up a light grin, Miki cants her head to the side, "We do all right." Seems a goodly sum of the bravado blew out of her sails as they left the fray.
For the most part the talk is lighthearted, touching on subjects such as who has the girls next for Flea and Cora's 'date night', when the rains are expected to be letting up, and other such things. It looks to be that Nikki's got next week, with Miki picking up the week after. A nice break-up of responsibilities, it seems.
Soon enough, the doorstep is reached, and it's here that Nikki will say his good-byes (this being in large part due to the fact that the gate he uses is attached to a dilapidated shed in the back). A careful hug with Miki is quickly followed by a hair mussing, there's protocol to follow with these things, you know. A moment's spent eying Basch off before a quick glomming is perpetrated. And with that, Nikki's off calling over his shoulder, "Catch you kids soon."

He watches him walk away, and shakes his head lightly. A character, alright.
Basch turns his attention back to Miki and smiles.
"Are you set for the night?"
Reply
"I think so. Right now showering and crashing sounds passing lovely." Picking up the case again, she looks him over, "Are you good for making your way home?" The implication being that he is rather welcome to stay, should he want.

"I think so. Probably a good idea to get the hat-rack looked at before going to sleep." Infected heads must suck.
Basch reaches out and gives her a somewhat gingerly hug, considering the business with the shoulder.
"Sleep well. I'll see you soon."
Reply
There's a kiss accompanying her end of the hug, though it's no less careful. It wouldn't due to accidentally squeeze a forming bruise, after all. "See you, then. Dream deep."
The case is picked up with a baleful glare, she's not looking forward to the potential repairs (and attendant cost) in the least. But that's something to deal with after sleep, pausing at the door, she waves then heads in, door closing with a quiet click.
It's been something of a night.
