It had certainly been some time since Miki had even thought to ask someone out for drinks, and now that it was in the process of occurring she was rather tickled by the notion. The halls between the lounge and he bar she was most familiar with were well populated, a testament to the drawing power of the Nexus ( Read more... )

"Mm," a sound of understanding; appreciation. Basch blows on the cider before taking a sip -- it's still a touch too hot. "the draw is understandable, then. The performances sound quite lively, as you describe them."

It's quite possible he has... no idea what he's in for. Very possible.

He stretches his neck; the stools are starting to bother his back, as well, though it's probably him being a creaking relic rather than the actual chair. Though he'd love to spend the evening here, just talking, there are no doubt duties and responsibilities piling up at home with every word he says. He affords Miki with a pleasant expression and nods.

"I hope we were well-met tonight, Miki. I've enjoyed myself greatly."

“Well-met indeed, I’ve had a fine time of the evening.” Her smile was one of a girl well pleased, and her drink finally done, she took the opprotunity to stretch. On the whim of a niggling thought, she pulled a small watch out of her pocket.

It would seem that back in the islands of El Nido, it was so late it had become early. This caused her brow to twitch slightly. Hopefully there wouldn’t be anything pressing that came up during the morning. That, or someone had better have strong coffee going..

“It would seem that I ought be bringing it to a close tho’, seems I’ve let time get away from me.” Not that she minded in the least, but there it was.

Basch, seeing Miki get up, stands from his chair as well.

"As have I, it seems," he says, after eyeing the clock over the bar. To say he minded would be a blatant lie, however. He struggles to -- and barely -- keeps a sudden yawn under wraps; such was rude, rude behavior, especially if you wanted her to believe you've enjoyed yourself. Such were the effects of the boozahol, he suspected.

After laying two more notes on the bar for the tender's gratuity, Basch turns back to Miki.

"I would see you home, if it pleases you." To her... portal!

The watch was gently returned to the depths of her pocket, there to wait in the dark and fuzz until its services were again called upon. She nodded firmly as she stretched yet again. It was really quite astounding how quickly the hours had sped by, and how relatively still she'd managed to be throughout.

“I think I should quite like that.” One last glance about to make sure that nothing was going to be left behind, and she was set.

“Shall we then?”

Most definitely. And here was Basch, only days ago wondering if he was too old for this sort of thing...

"We shall." This time, he gets the door. "After you."

Chivalry raised it's head, which left Miki paused for half a beat before she recalled what was then expected of her. "Thank you." And she was out the door, her gait flowing and easy down the hall.

All too soon, her portal was upon them. As she opened the door, the first fingers of dawn's light crept in along with the sound and smell of the ocean. "I've had a lovely time tonight.."

Oh... well, the fresh air was actually very pleasant, if unexpected. It perks him up a little.

"As have I. Your company has been a great comfort and pleasure." He's wearing a look that says maybe he's trying to decide whether to be formal, informal...

"I look forward to our 'sometime later' with great anticipation."

Informal it is. Aw.

Aw indeed.

Being in a rather impulsive mood, and more than a little giddy at this point, she decides to make something more definite of it. "I rather do as well, sleep sweet when you get to it, Basch." Smiling through it all, she waves and steps through, shutting the way behind her.

It would seem she'll be making more time to pop into the Nexus than she'd been planning on.
