Nothing but bad luck.

The last really cool and good thing in my life was last week when my sis and I went to the city. We hung out with Chelsea all day and all in all it was fun, but not everything went as we had planned it. First of all, we didn't end up dressing up like socialites like we had wanted to, second of all it was ridiculously hot outside, thirdly while we in this cool little garden in the east village poor Chels ripped her toe open and it gushed blood, fourth the food I ate at the Life Cafe gave me a stomach ache, fifth both me and my sister got awful wicked blisters from our shoes, and lastly my sister and I didn't get home until 2:30 in the morning because we missed the train we had wanted to catch. Still, other than all that crap, it was a lot of fun. We had cold drinks and read magazines at a Starbucks/Barnes and Noble, we did some shopping at the Manhattan Mall, and the main event of the day was meeting up with Heather Chin and seeing "A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant, A Prayer" at the Hammerstein Ballroom as part of the V-Day Festival. It was REALLY good, but it ran super long. We even got to see a few aardvarks (er, celebs) up close, including Cynthia Nixon and Rosario Dawson, who I must say is just as pretty if not prettier in person than she is in the movies. We didn't get to meet them because we weren't being crazy stalker fans, but it was cool because they were mingling in the crowd and not hidden away somewhere. I'm finally becoming more aware that celebrities are actually people too, and it's better to respect their privacy/personal space.

Other than that, life's been kinda shitty lately. This past weekend, I had a streak of bad luck. My sis and I had bought tickets to a Yankee game for this Saturday, not just any Yankee game but the Old Timer's Day game for ourselves, our dad, and our grandpa as a father's day present...we go down there and it's raining, they still have the Old Timer's Day ceremony, but they don't play. Just as they take the tarp off the field for the game between the Yanks and the Marlins, it starts to rain and they pull the tarp right back on again. They up delaying the game. Everybody but me got tired of sitting around and waiting, so we go to leave. Of course, just as we start leaving, they take the tarp off and prepare to start playing. We leave anyway because our seats were so high up and my grandpa has bad knees. I was really upset and disappointed. It was my first Yankees game EVER and I had to miss it. They ended up just playing a half an inning and playing a double header the next day anyway, but it was still upsetting. To make matters worse, Sunday was supposed to be the day of the cheer tryouts for the HV Cowboys. Only not a single person showed up. I had gotten myself up early for nothing, and now we're set back at least another week. To make matters worse, I still haven't gotten a long-term job yet, haven't heard from any of the places I've sent my resume to, and if that's not enough, I recieved a jury summons in the mail. Ewwwww. I have no excuses to put it off this time, so I have to call in for one-hour standby. UGGGGGHHHH. This is the worst streak of bad luck I've ever had. I'm a waste of life...no job, no cheer squad, no boyfriend, no life, and fuckin' jury duty. Somebody shoot me, please. icannotgettafuckinbreak.
