I made it to Edmonton and I am not dead yet !
I would say that me still being alive is quite the accomplishment. Three people were killed this weekend here in good old Edmonton and one was like 10 blocks away from my place at like noon !
I would like to say thank you to god for me not going for a walk at that time of day... you served me well !
So I have been gone for two weeks today ! I have alot to update you on. I am living in a Gigantic house in the Bonnie doon area of Edmonton and like a block away from whyte ave... about 15 blocks away from the cool like bar sort of area as well. So its not so bad of a deal. It is extremely loud here at night... I guess thats what you get for living near one of the busyier areas in the city. My fellow assistants that I live with are Rima she is from Seria, (forgive me if I spelt that wrong), and Young from korea. Rima is lots of fun and very energetic, Young is tall and like a bear and super nice !
I must say I still sort of hate this city, but I am finally starting to enjoy myself a little bit... the first week was kind of boring and I didnt really like it at all !
I am the only Canadian assitant in the community so I am trying to adapt to many different accents and cultures all at once. Which surprisingly isnt that tough. There are assistants from korea, Japan, Seria, Brazil, Peru, Africa ! It is pretty neat and some of the other houses are very close so I get to talk to many different people all the time.
The core members( the people I will be helping while living here.) Are just as great some are non-verbal and some are EXTREMLY verbal !!!!!!!!!! One of then when he gets mad yells and swears alot ... he kind of scares me but I think I will get used to it. He especially likes to target me because I am newer. So I live with 4 core members and they are all really fun to be around when they have smiles on their faces. I havent really done to much myself because I still a little unsure of the city, but I think slowly I will get used to it.
Oh yeah My mom and sister and keltie are planning on making a trip down here to Edmonton to shop and all of that ! Which will be sweet ! And if anyone is in edmonton let me know even if I dont have the day off I think I could work out a lunch or something ! I always enjoy familiar faces !
