i could tell myself to refrain or remain because i should.
i shouldnt be here because i had vouched not to come visiting the eljay world or be a temporary online citizen till the exams are over but as always. hee. so the first paper today went ___ . i dont know what word fits that best but i know that i was rather stunned and stumped to see the questions. however as anyone knows, with xams, you have no excuse to be stunned or stumped and that the next best thing you can do is to whack them questions with whatever you have got. if its of any interest, under the cut are the questions i attempted (three out of six) so feel free to fling your ideas across to me. all i hope is that i answered the questions with a credible enough argument and that my points actually linked. but what i am certain about is that towards the end with only mere minutes left, i was just throwing in whatever scraps i could grab from within my head, not caring whether there was a connection between them or not. just get them out onto that paper ! haha.
1) to what extent is popular culture synonymous with low culture? explain with regard to "mass society" and "progressive evolution" theories. give examples.
3) how do subcultures and popular cultures relate to each other? explain with regard to how texts are produced (encoded), distributed (re-coded) and consumed (decoded). give examples.
4. what is the difference between the modernist and postmodernist perspectives of the world? explain with regard to (the movie) Equilibrium, Eric Khoo and Jack Neo's films, or any other film that you have watched. give examples.
oh know what, when i actually typed the questions out, i realise i might have some loopholes here and there in my answers.

gosh, my hands were so numb by the time the two hours were up, i hope the examiner marking my answers would have the patience to read the remaining of my answers (the part when the cold started chewing on my bones).
