Quebecage: or my first major Rifle Competition...

Apr 04, 2005 14:57

Very tiring, and interesting experience. Very sore now.

10 hour trip to Quebec (most spent in very good company), shoot 100 scoring shots in a variety of position for 2.5 hours starting 6 hours after we arrive. Hang out in a bar with two really weird bathrooms after supper. Bathroom upstairs has a trough to pee in and very little privacy as most of the the trough is visible to the bar, and possibly there is a one way mirror involved. Bathroom downstairs is unisex: urinals down one wall, stall along the other. One of my teammates had his package checked out by a local chick, without comment.

Next day, again shoot 100 scoring shots in 2.5 hours starting 6 hours after bed. Ouch. Trip back started at ~5:00pm and got back to T.O. at ~3:00am. Not as fun as the trip out (hey would you rather travel with an engaging member of the opposite sex or a quiet eating machine with no sex appeal (at least to you))?

Anyways, I have a clearer understanding as to the relationship status of various of my peeps, now I just need to sit back and watch the show.

Oh, and I have no idea how well I shot. Will update this with standings as I receive them.

And As promised an
UPDATE:

It appears I placed third overall in both of my events (Sporter Prone, Sporter Three-Position), with agregate scores of 1147x27 (max is 1200x120, 1st place was 1181x40), and 1040x11 (1st was 1103x22). My club took five out of the six top spots in these two events.
