I have nothing against this lab. I think it is generally a good place to work. I'm just tired of academic research in general.
In this field, working longer than 40 hr weeks is a given. So is coming in to work weekends and coming in at odd hours. Unless you are the lab PI, in which case you sit at your desk and write/review grants all day, and go from meeting to meeting. Neither of these sounds appealing. I am craving stability in so many areas of my life right now. But first, we need to move on from here. One step at a time. Patience, patience.
