More and more each day our girl seems less of a baby and more like a kid.
I picked up a new bag to use for her stuff today. It is a "baby bag" due to its various pockets which I enjoy, but much more adult bag looking. The woman at Marshall's actually asked me if it was a laptop bag and commented on all of its nice pockets. And it was only $30.
I tend to be a simple/streamlined person but pair that with being super prepared, anal retentive and ideally a light packer. Thus, my bag demands are quite complex. I'd like something stylish but not frouffy. Good quality but not super expensive.
This must have been discontinued by Skip Hop quite a while ago, because I can't find pics of the bag anywhere online. I think perhaps my favorite feature is that the material is just like the old blue flight jacket that I owned in my hardcore days. Same color, same kind of washable/scratchy material.
As she transitions to toddler and away from baby, we transition to parents of a toddler from parents of a baby.
I remember in those early days of totally sleepless nights and always having her attached to my boob, that I would encounter other parents and they would tell me to enjoy this time. It does not last forever, and they grow more independent and don't need or want us for this 24x7 care anymore. And how! I have totally become that person now, and my kid is only 17 months old.
