I can't believe that it is Wednesday. Not working on Mondays, the weeks seem to go by faster. I'm back at work, dance class that night, and then it is hump day!
The bossman has been out on vacation and I'm in a bit of a lull period (it is feast or famine), so I've had good time to get caught up on things and do some difficult/probing projects. There are big things coming down the road that will change all of our work processes, but until they get here we are in a bit of a limbo state.
Things are ramping up at the dance studio with costume deposits in, and routines getting finished off and polished up. The theater we have been using (Turtle Lane in Newton) is closed, and we are searching for another. Does anyone have any good ideas around Waltham? The city charges too much for the schools. Thanks in advance!
Mina has been sleeping poorly lately: teething? growth spurt? a cold? For almost a week she goes to bed just fine but keeps waking. At one point we end up bringing her to bed with us for her comfort and our rest. Cosleeping with a 13 month old is much different than with a 3 month old. Still, it works for us.
Plans are underway for our trip to San Francisco in late April. The prospect of flying with Mina is both exciting and terrifying. I watched an Isis webinar yesterday on sleep/jet lag and such. Flying West to East is supposed to be harder on your circadian rhythum, and to top it off the times to fly direct just suck (in terms of her napping schedule). We are trying to avoid a cranky, tired baby in the security line. We'll see how this goes. Brian will be at a conference Wed-Fri of that week during the day, so Miss M and I will be on our own in the city. Oh what to do?!
In reading of a book from a local author coming out soon
http://www.minimalistparenting.com/ it is making me really think of how we are spending our time, money and effort. What is important to us and where should we put our emphasis? I think we have some good systems in place but we are on the cusp of figuring some things out to make our lives easier and time more meaningful. Sometimes spending a bit more cash is worth it to have more time and peace of mind. But I don't want to spend too much cash - it does have a limit. Then there is the balance with wanting to be a good steward to the earth and not be wasteful. Lots of things to think about! I can't wait to get my copy of this book in the mail, which I have on pre-order.
In totally frivilous news, mamma got a brand new bag! Mine was kind of beaten up and too big (so much so I was putting too much in it). I picked out one from
http://www.moopshop.com/ with some money I've been saving and with some of the cash from our tax refund (Brian was using his to buy some Judge Dredd costume bits). I just love it! Size is big enough but not too big. Design is super practical. Style is casual but has a bit of something, so I don't feel like a grub using it in a professional office work environment. I love, love, love it!
