So, I rolled and rerolled and rerolled so many soldiers, and some of them are OP.
I have an Assault with Field Medic, Savior, Deep Pockets, and Grenadier.
Equipping an alien grenade and a medikit, that makes 4 heals for 10 hp each, and 3 grenades for 6 damage each.
This is on a soldier with an alloy cannon, Run and Gun, and Rapid Shot.
Pass. You're now my doctor.
My squad leader is also an assault, with 121 will. Also has Close and Personal, and Close Combat Specialist.
Run into the middle of a lot of aliens, invisible, and unload 3 shots. Then as they scatter, shoot some more. Preferably all the ranged aliens are dead, so the melee aliens rush her ... and get shot. Lawl.
I have a few interesting supports, but in training roulette, they're not really worthwhile - their best skills can go on any class.
Actually, what I really want is a heavy with Grenadier, Mayhem, and Deep Pockets. Throw grenades all day, in addition to the rocket launcher. Don't even need to use the heavy plasma at that point. Maybe Close Combat Specialist for shooting defensively.
Snipers are also meh so far. With their high aim stat, they have so much potential - but it seems they can't roll skills that give them extra attacks. Would be awesome to get the critical boosting skills and just go with the standard Double Tap thing. Come to think of it, if I actually manage to get an explosives expert, In the Zone might actually be better, for finishing them all off.
I have so many rejects but for once I'm not bothering to turn them into MECs - 'cos using the meld for genetic enhancement is so much more entertaining in a game like this.
In unrelated news, Pokémon Y finally arrived in the mail. It's been almost 3 weeks, and they advertise 7-10 days. Eh.
Anyways, I'm not particularly keen to play it right now, and the only thing I know I want is a Bulbasaur.
Yes, that's right, a shiny gen 6 game, and all I want a starter from gen 1.
