fuck jack kerouac

so we've been on tour for three days and already it feels like a big adventure. thursday we trekked down to hartford to hang out with becky's sister and her mom. the night was pretty tame; we got some dinner at a nice italian place and then played this funny game called 'apples to apples'. in the morning we got some vegetables at a russian market in west hartford and cooked tofu scramble with the fam. after breakfast we had to screenprint about a million fucking patches for becky's other business ($$$).
that afternoon we headed into nyc where we were supposed to table at a punk show at abc no rio but we were late as fuck because we had found a restaurant in hartford that let us take 85 gallons of grease (which should last us like 1900 miles). we ended up meeting one of becky's friends, steve, at abc and getting a few drinks at this near empty bar in the lower east side called "the whiskey ward". they had a killer jukebox and the drinks were strong, so i started to feel a little more comfortable in the city. becky and steve talked at length about a bunch of political stuff that i don't really know much about and then steve departed for long island. from there we went into brooklyn to meet up with my cousin, ariel. she took us to a crazy building of lofts where her downstairs neighbors were having a bbq. everyone was super nice and we got to eat and get a little bit drunk and i got a good chance to really catch up with my favorite cousin. the one thing that sucked is that we had to sleep on the bus in sketchy ass bucktown because ariel is temporarily living with her boyfriend and he had a bunch of musicians staying over for the weekend and there literally wasnt even room to sleep on the floor.
in the morning we headed to a u.u. church uptown where we talked to yuppies about grease cars. it was cool. i took a walk from 80th street to the late 90's and that was kind of cool. next we went to an anarchist info shop called 'mayday' and dropped off some of becky's catalogs ($$$). parking uptown is fucking ridiculous. sight. for the rest of the day we've just been going to stores and buying cool shit that they don't have in nh (shirts and solar powered vibrators, ha!). tonight we head down to jersey to swim in the ocean and prepare for a-space.
hope everyone at home is doing well, i'll try and keep updating.
peace!

ps. airport cards are sick. i'm sitting in a bus in the lower east side with full internet access. thanks, college kids!
