i think i have like 6 different posts in my blog titled "lookout weekend".
but seriously, look out.
this time i'm serious.
SO. let me entice you with a tale of my embarrassing work debacle, where i humiliate myself in front of the entire academic staff of the faculty of medicine...well, perhaps thats a little bit too dramatic.
anyway in short, yesterday i sent this total DUD, wrong document to every single person in the faculty of medicine, then had to send them out a retraction email saying sorry for annoying them with so many emailz. oopsies. some academic staff are really snooty, and i got lots of bratattack emails back, saying, bla bla you should double check..i was a little humiliated, but oh wellz. that's life, and in life you have to face challenges, it just makes you stronger, well, thats what anthony robbins told me anyway.
last weekend was pretty fun. well, my brother's bday was a little annoying, just family annoyances, and i was a little put out about how much attention he got from my parents. like, i cant even remember my 21st, but they went all out with teh presents and lavishing attention. hmph. golden child. i think i'm like, the bronze child. but my parents gave me $150!!!!!! yessssssss. i spent it all already. well mum gave me $50 "spending" money (cute!) then i checked my bank balance later on and i only had $12 in it, so dad gave me $50, then mum caved in and gave me another $50, not knowing dad had already given me $50, so then i decided to be honest and told her that i'd already got $50 and she was like have it anyway. SO, the moral of this story is, it pays to be honest. remember that kidz. i got to see tiff briefly cause she came to mark's bday party and then i went and slept over at her house. it was so good to see her, as she's hella fine (and my bff!)
the next day casey picked me up and we drove back to sydney and had an entertaining time reading NW magazines and laughing at paris hilton, and waiting in line for 40 minutes at macdonalds (sheesh!). on monday we totes hit up china town and had the most hilarious experience inside one of those japanese photo sticker booths.
omgzzzzzzzzzzzz. there's this awesome arcade near paddy's market that mish showed me, filled with japanese vending machines (the toys are SO much better!) and heaps of those sticker booths, like 30 of them. there was this one that had like, totes bling gold metallic backdrop curtains and an option where you could get a background of frolicking KITTIES with you superimposed in amongst them, so we were like, THIS IS THE ONE!
there was this sign that said the instructions are in japanese so ask someone to translate because we dont accept refunds if you fuck it up (in so many words) so we asked for help, but no one helped us, so we were like, whatevzzzzzzzzz how hard can it be? so we put our $12 in $1 coins in and then all of a sudden this whirring started, and this LOUD japanese voice burst forth with all this stuff, but i couldnt understand what she said, and there was background music, and sound effects, and flashing lights, and we SCREAMED, and started posing frantically, but it wasn't taking any photos, we tried to decipher the writing on the screen, whilst screaming and posing at teh same time, and falling over, and doing our makeup, and then all of a sudden it started taking all these photos, and teh backdrop started mechanically moving, so we did more poses. THEN, all these instructions came up on the screen whilst this girl was simultaneously giving japanese instructions whilst all this frantic music was playing, so we figured we had to choose which photos we wanted, so we chose, but there was this timer ticking down, and the girls voice was getting louder and more frantic at every second, so we just pressed a heap of buttons, and then it only picked ONE photo!! so then we randomly chose like 50 bling thigns to decorate the picture with, heaps of gems and roses, and some ugly kitties, and these pearl things you could write things with, and then the timer ran out and that was it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
INTENSE. we were totally dazed for about 5 minutes thinking, what the hell just happened?!??! then our stickers came out, and there were like 8 OF THE SAME PHOTO, so all our poses had gone to waste, and in my haste to decorate it with pictures of gems and shit, i had totally obscured half my face with some bizarre word in japanese. i hope it doesnt say like, dumbass. it probs does. NEEDLESS TO SAY, the stickers are really cute, and i have stuck them all over my phone, compact, boyfriend.......
anyway, last night i went to see Ezzy dj at The Wall, it was really good, she was so rad!! we also went to Jimmy sings for this dj guy Sinden, but it was totes decked out with meaty young guys, too much sausage going on, so we left. at the wall they were doing this thing where they cut up a picture and everyone had to pick a segment and reproduce it on a bigger piece of paper, to form a large wall drawing. i tried so hard, thinking, this will be so easy since i'm an "artiste". but it just turned out SO ugly. i got really frustrated and scribbled all over it, but then, nic gave it to them and they put it up anyway! MORTIFIED! so then i had to do another one, which i tried really really hard on, but it just looked wanky. i hate that shit! i feel i have some sort of reputation to uphold like, i went to art school so i am meant to be sooooo good at drawing segments of stuff, but i'm not really. i'm a failure!!!!!!!!!
sob.
WOAH!
