So I decided that I actually wanted to make an official New Year's resolution this year. Turns out, once I made one, I'd think of another, then another, until I ended up with my very own "eightfold path" for a better year.
1. Finish work on time. Since there really are no deadlines or homework assignments in science classes, this just means reviewing class material before class and finishing all reading by the weekend after class.
2. Get more involved in the Newman Catholic Student Center.
3. Get a job, preferably one that is useful to me, but also relatively low-stress. Maybe tutoring Organic Chemistry.
4. Be involved in the Big Brother Big Sister program. I don't know that this can really count as a resolution, but I still felt the need to include it.
5. Hang out with Sigma Phi Epsilon less. They are good guys for the most part, but it's just not my scene.
6. Keep my room/apartment clean. This includes having and following a cleaning schedule for my roommate and me.
7. Stay in shape. Situps every other night, gym once a week (or the equivalent in cardio work at home)
8. Dance more. Take drop-in format classes at local studios and gyms and things.
All of these can basically be summed up in a few broad, vague ideas - feel better about myself (which includes doing things that I enjoy), pursue friendships with new people, help other people, and distribute stress a little more evenly throughout the year.
