She always loved airports. Perhaps she loved the feeling that life was transitory, or maybe she just felt important having somewhere to go and strong having no one to wait for her. She could see herself in ten or twenty years as one of those briefcase-carrying travelers, flying off to settle some big, intelligently-fought case. And she wondered if, in twenty years, she would watch from behind the make up and power heels- watch the girl waiting for the boy (or vice versa), watch their faces laugh and cringe inside and scribble frantically in her notebook as if it would make her eyes stop watering. And she wondered, against her will and reason and all that, what it would be like with Him sitting next to her, waiting and not wanting to say good-bye. He probably hates good-byes, she thought. He had also known very few of them...people in His life seemed to stay there. Magnetic people seem to have that advantage. And for that, she loved Him jealously.
