wow. i'm so much more productive on my days off when i get up at 9 and not 1. hmmm. coincidence maybe?
i've already called my insurance, taken a shower, made lentils and cous cous and coffee and lit a fire in the heater oven. damn. only one piece of coal left... that means my next move will be down to the basement to get more coal, then off to the second hand shop, the grocery store and then emails. i have to email marcel because after this whole ticket fiasco he owes me €40. the police also said, and this is a direct quote, 'if you cooperate with us, there won't be any more trouble for you.' what am i now, trapped in a law and order episode? or a bad spy movie? or maybe suddenly a campy ww2 drama. wtf. oh well. its not me ripping off those ticket machines so i'm not going to take a fall for it. i'll gladly fess up to any crimes i've actually committed, or at least hold out till the end.
did anyone hear about this crazy shit that happened the day after thanksgiving? an employee being trampled to death when unlocking the doors of a walmart or something? a shootout in a toys'r'us? fuck. who else thinks that these things are a little, no a lot, sick?
last night anna and i went to the christmas market at alexanderplatz and ate heiße maronen(roasted chestnuts). yesterday was germany's version of 'black friday', minus the shopping frenzy, it was the first day of advent. the shopping center there was open and we walked through just to go for some spaghetti at the supermarket, somehow i ended up buying boots for too much money, and then we saw the fair- all riotous lights and steam and smoke against the black sky, a huge ferris wheel and little huts and people everywhere. something weird came over us and we ran down the stairs all giddy, heading straight for that swing ride, you know the one, with the swings on chains, that spins around till the swings go out sideways. we froze our asses off flying through the air and the thing went higher and higher, a train passed below us, the tv tower went by, the whole city in surreal backlighting, in negative in the dark, and us screaming and coughing from the cold air flying above it. we definitely needed that.
