So the last 2.5 weeks have actually nearly killed me, thanks. Prac is going extremely well, but it is extremely draining on a whole.

Week 1 went by in a flash, considering it was only 4 teaching days out of 5 thanks to Professional Development. Taught 6 out of 7 lessons straight up on Tuesday. My Year 8's are absolute angels but my Year 10's left a lot to be desired - sorted them out by Thursday's lesson!!! Year 11 Biology class is HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE, 28 in total, but they're a great group of kids, boisterous however. Year 11 Maths class is small and refuse to work so one question in the textbook will take them a single 45 minute lesson.

Week 2 was a draining week on the whole. Open Night on Wednesday was a hoot - apparently, according to one of my supervising teachers Vera, I'm suited to a R/1 or 1/2 relief as I was looking after her 2 girls! That was a 12 hour day at school on it's own. With dramas to cap the week off on Thursday and Friday with 2 ambulances at school over 2 days, I think we were all looking forward to drinks in the staff room at 3.30 Friday arvo!

Went on the Year 8 excursion to Hallett Cove today with 4 other staff members and 91 Year 8 students. Was a grand day, got sunburnt, walked about 5km and had a hoot with the kids overall.

I'm learning so much and apparently have come so far in the 2 weeks since I've started. My supervising teachers are fantastic, extremely helpful and would bend over backwards if push came to shove. The feedback and constructive criticism have become extremely helpful in my planning and implementation in the classroom. I've got my uni liason coming to view my Year 8 class tomorrow - got a practical with them and a demo to end the class if they're on their best behaviour!!! :) Bribery works wonders with those kids!

The only that drags me down on a whole is marking and setting assignments. I've got my Maths class handing in an assignment tomorrow, I'm in the middle of setting a Genetics group assignment for my Biology class, I've got their Genetics quizzes to mark, my practical for the 8's has been set, and the Year 10's have an assignment due next week, and I've got to set a quiz for them also. At least the 10's are on camp this week, so I've only got contact with half the class for the rest of the week, seeing as though I set a relief for today's lesson.

I'm exhausted, physically and emotionally, but having an absolute ball! :) Friday afternoon at 3.10, when the bell rings, I'll be 50% done! :)
