I am beginning to discover a rather unpleasant downside to locking up your bike: While it does means no one can take it, it also means that if say, the lock freezes, and then your key breaks off in it, you have a very long, cold walk home.

What the hell is up with the -21 tempatures!?!? It's fuckin' April already.

GROAWL.

Yeah, it sure wasn't going anywhere. I freed it, though, so it's all good.

Ugh, don't get me started!

The bottom bracket has some weirdness going on, either with the spindle, the cups, or both. I may have to replace those pieces, and until then, the pedels and crank arms are wobbly.

Also, I have a broken spoke on the back wheel, and the area where the spoke nipple would thread into the rim has broken off, so I can't replace the spoke without getting an entirely new rim.

Neither of these are very hard tasks, but neither of them are things I really want to have to do, or really have time for. Augh.

(p.s. Sorry if I confused you with all the bike terminology. :P)

Well, one can know how to fix something without actually knowing what it's called. I thought perhaps all those fancy names might've confused you. :P

I do know how to fix it all... I just don't want to. Heh. Laziness.

It's not broken so that it doesn't work, it's just that elements of it are not working as well as they could be. So it's not an immediate concern, just someting that needs to be dealt with sooner or later.

Plus, that rear wheel is only a back-up, one I'm using until my proper rear wheel gets welded again, so that it's a fixed gear. Can't wait.
