[Please, remember me, fondly...]

It's kindof weird what we remember and what we don't. I mean, faces or names, places or words, pictures or stories. If two people have the exact same experience and you ask them about it ten years down the road they'll both tell you about it differently, but neither will remember everything. Life comes at you too fast to remember everything I suppose. Pick and choose the details you want to keep with you, photograph the others. But when you forget something how do you know you've forgotten it? There are the things you tell yourself you'll remember forever and the people you know you'll never forget, but if you do how will you know? Even when your mind fails though, you can't forget people. The way they've made you, the way they've shaped you, you couldn't forget them if you tried. Ever remember something that you're not sure ever happened? A memory can't be a memory if it wasn't there to begin with, can it? But it's on the tip of your memory and it's fleeting and you can only catch glimpses and faint noises and scents. So get on a train and head west or head east or north or south, head somewhere you haven't been. Head out and make new memories, don't allow yourself to stew in the same old stuff you've been living with forever. What'd you do to end up here? What'll you do to move on?
Whether or not I remember you, I'll never forget you.
