So top photo is Mr Rock n Roll Joel. So we went and stayed at his place for a few days, he is down south in Mt Barker, so we explored the area around Albany and Denmark. He has a couple of kids so fun for Nico to be playing with them. We first met in Coffs Harbour at the "Army of Darkness" tour.
Here we go, here's a tour poster. So Mr Joel though the show was pretty good in Adelaide, so he said I should go to the next show he could. Which happened to be in Coffs Harbour. Which I had also decided to attend, in a trip with the Qld shows as well. The Butterfly Efffect were also due to play in Brisbane (they didn't).
Now I have gone into a bit of a wormhole reading old posts of these adventures. That could last forever...Anyway, I should have got one of these posters back in the day, they are selling for $30 a pop!
Back to the recent trip. We stayed in the Fremantly YHA, excellent. One of the better hostels I have stayed in, within the grounds of an old jail. There I caught up with my friend Leon from school. Good to catch up. We went together to Perth back in 2004.
I sure am getting sidetracked. The best thing on the whole trip was this waterpark set up in the city last Saturday. That was awesome. It was free and they had a bunch of slides and things. I'm glad I found out about that before we went. I was looking for cheap places to eat and that kind of thing.
On that topic I have acquired the domain name for kidseatfree.me (it was quite cheap). I haven't done much at all with it as yet, but I want to put together some free/cheap meals and things to do with kids around and about.
Anyway, back home now. Glad to make it, it was a long drive back from Sydney airport after the overnight flight. Ended up getting a hire car really cheap. We were going to catch the train but in reality, the car was cheaper than even catching the train just from the airport to the city.
