Melbourne
We are back from Melbourne. It was a pretty good trip down there, non stop. What was not good was how the Raiders played, but I had a lot of fun, drank some beers and also won some money in the casino, so that was pretty good.
I said last time I went down to Melbourne that I would like to take the whole family down the next time, so that's what we did. It was a pretty crowded schedule which meant I didn't get to see all the people I would have liked, but I think Nico had a really good time, as did I. Great to catch up with plenty of friends, including many who have kids about the same age so Nico was able to play together with them, and he played really well with all the little friends we visited.
I had a footbag session with a guy Albert. I knew he did freestyle football, but not footbag, so I was really pleased about that, and hit a few good tricks myself. We had a great room up on the roof and the Melbourne Central YHA and stopped on the way down and back up in a motel. As flights are so expensive, doing that and the cost of petrol is probably still half the cost of flying down. It was also just great to have a few days off work and go to some different places.
I have more pictures and will write a bit more in the future when it's not very late at night and time for bed. I also went by and had a look at the place I used to live when I was down in Melbourne, ten years ago now.
