Freezing to the death in the morgue

Freezing, fffffrrrrreezzzing.

It's cold this weekend. I just walked home from Dickson, it's going to be -7 later, so it's probably somewhere down below zero. I haven't posted in a little bit. Couple of weeks it looks like. In the previous posts I mentioned quite a bit going through the registration process to be a teacher. Well that's all done, and I immediately got the final week of term, a position filling it at a school not too far from here. Not super close either, but it's within my preferred range, which is about 15km from home.

Anyway, that was pretty good overall, I think it was generally a success, except for yesterday, which was pretty shit, but last day of term, I guess that's what to expect, but I was really disappointed with the rudeness on that final day. The rest of the week I think I got a reasonable flow, considering that I was basically just given the class - go for it. Their regular teacher had quite a bad accident so I think she has been out of action for some time already. It was good to just have the one class to go to for a debut gig. Also good to get some experience at the end of term there.

This is my "first day of school" photo. Overall I had a good week. There were a few people I knew there. People from uni, even one girl I went to school with. A lot of the executive teachers were quite young-ish (probably a similar age to me), there was a pretty good vibe there. I'm intrigued to see what happens next term. I'd also be happy to get some more work there over the rest of the year. I think once a school gets to know you, you will coming back and coming back.

Billy and his family are in town this weekend, staying in the hostel. I got them a deal. I worked a shift up until 10 tonight, and it was just a bad shift. A lot of things going wrong. Washing machines overflowing, that were supposedly fixed in recent days. Stuffups with rooms, pretty much every person that I had to talk to had some issue. Would have been nice just to recommend somebody a nice place to go next. Anyway, we had a couple of beers after and then I relaxed a bit.

Now it's one in the morning so I will probably go to bed soon. I needed a bit of time just to thaw out once coming back inside. It's pretty chilly out there.
