Permission to Land

This morning I was very pleased with myself as I handed in all my paperwork to begin the registration process for becoming a teacher. By the end of the day I was pleased again, as I was approved for a Permit to Teach, which will allow me to start doing some casual work. I have to fill out another set of forms and send them off to the department. So not sure how soon I could start actually getting into the teaching world, maybe even next week, but it will probably be a couple of weeks to begin.

While there were a lot of positives, I also got a thumbs down from the local school I applied at. It would have been nice to get to that interview stage, but at this time of year I imagine there would be quite a few people applying and a fairly competitive pool. Particularly at that school as it's in a good location. There are a couple of other jobs available which I may look at going for. I wasn't really expecting too much from that one, so it's not a big letdown. Obviously someone with zero experience is probably not going to be the exact candidate you are really seeking out, which is why it will be good to get some casual work.

I went over to Queanbeyan yesterday to start the process for NSW. I took Nico with me, and we went to the skatepark afterwards. There was nobody around so we could have a good time there. I took some videos and things with the idea of getting some new vlogs done. The next one I do will be vlog #20, which feels like a nice little achievement. I was doing them once a week for quite a while and I'd like to try and get back to that.

Looks like we're going to have a good time a couple of weekends from now. Looks like a few friends from Sydney will be down visiting Canberra and there are some plans afoot for a picnic lunch. I will have to work that weekend, but should be able to figure things out around that.

I also never got around to posting this yesterday. Not much news, just an extra day of work, an extra day closer to a few days off, so that's just great.
