The Golden Boot

So I we went down to the hospital today, I got to see an orthapedic surgeon, I guess it was good to go to a proper hospital as the facilities in Nepal are, well, very basic.

I was getting some more pain so I was wondering it could have some more damage, but I got some new x rays on it and he said no worries mate. Well, the doctor was Thai, that's not a direct quote, but he stocked me up with a range of different medicines which seem way over the top for an ankle injury (eg 5 different kinds?), however he cleared it of any damage. The big thing though was that I got strapped up with this velcro boot type thing, which is holding the ankle together very well, and really helping to reduce the swelling.

We met up with Jonathan yesterday and drank some beers (or bears as he pronounces it). The hostel we are currently staying in was booked out for the night so we are going to move to one next door. I didn't really feel like making tracks just yet, we haven't really seen too much of Bangkok as it is. Tomorrow we will head towards some islands. I think we will go to Ko Samui first, and then I have been recommended some places that sound very nice too. It is the rainy season though, so we'll see how that pans out for us. I don't mind doing not much apart from sitting at the beach.

I just watched on Youtube a fight from the Melbourne vs Manly match, this was great stuff, classic 80s era biff. They will all probably get suspended for the rest of the season for "bringing the game into disrepute" or something, but, that's what the people want to see, is people charging in from the bench into the fight. You never see that sort of thing anymore.

I don't have to many plans for today, I think I will make the plans for the next few days, once I move into our new abode. You can get a joint ticket for train-bus-ferry to Ko Samui which sounds like an easy option, then once we're there we can investigate the possibilities.
