Last night we went over to Rhys' place to play the board game RISK. I have only ever played it one time before, I think I was 10 years old.

Anyhow, we had been talking for quite some time about getting a game of Risk going. Finally there was a time when I was actually around, and didn't have to work. I had the whole day off yesterday. Mum and Dad came to visit the night before, I think they were pleased with our hospitality. We gave up our bed, and made them breakfast. It was a big breakfast, almost like being at Grandma's!

Anyway, I had spent the entire day inside, I hadn't really done much at all, and things weren't really going to plan. I was feeling a bit down about that. Eventually we gathered the troops, in the game it was me, Francisca, Jonathan, Pete and Rhys.

My strategy was bad. It was to attack when I had not built up a reserve of armies. There were no surprises when I was bundled out of the game. It was quite some time before the game was finished, Pete gave us a lift home, and we arrived after 1am.

Hoping to have a rematch next week, I should be having a four day weekend. Looking forward to that one!

Today I'm going to go to the gym, then I'll be working in the evening. Francisca has a friend coming to stay, we're going to meet him at the bus stop, he's coming on the bus from Melbourne, so we will meet him at 4am. Can't say I'm terribly looking forward to that one. It's very cold at that time of morning.
