So the Break Even show I was going to go to last night, it was sold out. This was probably a good thing, it meant I just came back to the hostel and rested. I got my own room this time around, with a nice double bed (although it was a bit smaller than the family room from my stay in Canberra, nor did it have it's own bathroom), but awesome all the same, for the big price of zero dollars.

I went to have dinner last night with Mel (uglee_mofo). That was the first time I've met her, and she's really nice. We went to Shakespeare's pub, which up a little bit from the Strawberry Hills (owned by the same people), I had a big steak for $10. Some her friends were there, they had been drinking since about midday. The table we were sitting at had a chessboard on it, and we played checkers. I ended up losing, quite convincingly to Xia. She was much better at it than me.

The footbag session yesterday was really good, not for how I was playing, but moreso for the turnout. It was probably Andrew's last session in Australia, so we had Ian, Dyalan, Max, me, and a new face, Ryan. Ryan is a kiwi guy living in Australia, he's a bit older and also a keen surfer, so him, Andrew and I had some good chats later on about surfing. I didn't hit anything really of note. Ryan noted later how in footbag, if you hit something good for your level, everyone gets stoked...he is just starting out, but in a lot of other things (not just sports), when you're a nu-jack, you can basically just fuck off.

So today Grandma is putting on a lunch for me, a lot of the family are coming along, then I think I'm going to go out to dinner with Andrew and I think Kelly will come along for that too. A kick with Ian tomorrow, then re-pack my bags, and I'm off the next day.

I feel really refreshed today. I had a really good sleep, and then got a nice serve of free breakfast.

steak, footbag, shows, free stuff, meeting people, travel
