Seriously awesome awesome weekend.

On Friday I flew up to Canberra, on Qantas. I basically flew with them cos I thought I would get a drink for free, but I had to pay extra for the drink, which is total bullshit, so they can fuck off. But anyway, no troubles with the flight, I was actually listening to the business channel and they had all this really interesting people who had started a variety of businesses and had been really succesful, made me think that one day that could be me if I can just pull my arse into gear and get motivated.

Anyway I had to wait a fair while for the bus, but I got that and met Alison at Kingos and had a drink, I was going to meet Paige, but then her and Tim were heading off to Sydney, which was kinda disappointing, but oh well. Instead I went over to Garrety's and chilled at his room on res, walked over to the jamo after this for the Miles Away show.

When I walked in there was only the dudes from MA and Homewrecker, and I don't know any of them so I just chilled by myself and drank some more. So the Jamo have been fucking Paddy round heaps with the shows lately which is shit, cos it's a pretty cool venue with no barrier etc... but that miles away show was definitely the last straw. They actually ended up calling the police to clear out the venue, which is not very cool, they said they were going to shut the venue at 10, which is ridiculous considering the show had been booked for months. Anyway, they cut the sound during miles away, but they kept playing with no PA and everyone jumped up on stage and sang along/did stagedives.

Afterwards we went in to Rev and Rae was doing the door so she let me in for free which was pretty awesome. Already on arrival I was seriously raging drunk and I drank more and more and more and I did about 100 stage dives off the stairs straight into people and some people were looking pretty pissed off so that was cool. They played some really awesome songs there like One Armed Scissor so that was sweet. Stayed at Leigh and Dana's and in the morning Dana cooked up this huge breakfast with like bacon and eggs and sausages. Ruling.

I was really fucking hungover all of that day which was no real suprise, I played some Wii Sports which was good fun. I met up with my parents and we stayed at Waldorf in the city. This kind of annoyed me because it's the reason the church bar closed down and why they always threatened to close toast, but I guess Dad doesn't take that into consideration when booking accomodation. However, there was this miniature tennis court on the roof and me and Alison beat mum and Dad. Ha!

We went for dinner at Woodstock and Dad paid for the meal and it cost him an arm and a leg, but later on he went to the casino and won even more money, lucky him. But basically, the night was spent with some of my most awesome best friends, Benno, Dan Smiley and Kara. Most of the night we were at Civic pub and playing classic from the mid 90s on the jukebox. Old silverchair, jebediah, grinspoon, frenzal, etc. Dan Smiley had heaps of money so we made him keep buying the drinks and that was pretty awesome. Didn't actually pay for a single drink last night, and so I shouldn't...it's my birthday! But yeah, awesome company last night. Had a great time. Dad called me at 2:30am cos he was pissed off I wasn't getting enough sleep for the high price bed so I headed home soon after that. Foolishly on the phone I had said "yeah yueah I'm cool, I can get up any time" so at 8am mum comes in and makes us wake up, which was pretty bogus.

I got a bit of money and stuff for my birthday which was cool, I think I actually came back with more money than I left, so that's pretty awesome. We met up with my Anne and Tony and our cousins Jack and Thomas, and I sold them both footbags. I'm doing well with sales of footbags....job interviews, family get togethers, where next!

Anyway we stuffed around heaps in Canberra and that was pretty annoying, however I have borrowed Alison's video camera cos I want to film some footbag stuff, and I'm sick of trying to rely on other people to film stuff cos it doesn't work. So anyway, hopefully that's cool.

Once we got down to Bega me and Dad went out to middle and had a surf which is the first time I've been out in the water since we went on our little surfing trip in December last year, which is just crazy. Anyway, the waves were reasonable, the tide was a bit high, and I was pretty rusty, but it was a nice day and good in the water, so yeah, sweet.

But anyway, I'm in a really positive mood. There's this footbag jam that's going to happen in Narooma early next year, and that's going to rule a lot. I had an awesome weekend, however it didn't make me want to move back to Canberra at all, it made me want to have awesome times in Melbourne and make more friends etc, just like I did in all the other cities. Like I'm in a really good relationship, and on Tuesday it's one year, so I guess we're going pretty strong. I got this $100 voucher to buy like homewares and shit, I don't know what the hell I'll buy with that, but we need a lot of stuff, so it will probably come in handy. And next week we are going to see silverchair and I think that's going to be pretty cool as well.
