Soooo
we're down in Geelong.
It was such a long journey down yesterday.
Had two sweet nights out as my last couple as a Canberra person.
Had the Hard Luck/Worlds Apart show, was sweet and awesome fun.
Had some drinks at Kingo's on Friday, also did a footbag demo at this youth week thing, which all in all was a pretty average, and not very well organised.
We also closed the footbag club account, and spent the final money on beer for me, Rhys and Ben....IMHO we are the most deserving of that, so that's good.
Went and saw MM9 at the Green Room after having drinks with Tim, Rhys, Benno, Kara, Dan Smiley and others. Saw Barrel of Monkeys and Gasma, both for the first time, and was fairly impressed by both.
(Had about 1000 beers, so would be impressed by most things, but it was fairly solid). The Eternal played, they supported Opeth last year and I wasn't siked on them, so we went to KFC and got a big family meal between the three of us, which was a bit much really.
MM9 were good, really glad I went to that, was good to see out my final night in Canberra at a gig.
OK, so now for the story of yesterday.
We were meant to leave around 8.
We left about 9
Stopping by Leonie and Allan's, where it was decided we repack the entire trailer.
SO leave Canberra about 10:30
Stop for maccas, which was pretty solid the first time round
Stop off in Gundagai to pick up Jack and Russel, who are....Jack Russels.
Stop in Albury to see more of Kate's family
Stop again for maccas in Glenrowan....worst service, worst food, no good.
So we keep driving and I am asleep in the back
All of a sudden there is a whole lot of commotion, there's a spider in the car.
Kate's mum's no 1. fear is.....spiders. She won't get back in the car.
So it's decided that we should go to Kalkallo which is the next service station, and that Kate's mum will stay by the side of the freeway with her dogs.
Upon arriving at the servo we decide it would be a good idea to contact the police, because there is a crazy woman on the side of the freeway.
They basically laughed at us and said "well you just better go back and pick her up"
I was on the phone to the Craigieburn police station, Kate had already called 000 and it seemed like nothing would come out of that...and the guy was just laughing at me so I told him "thanks for your help, you fucking dickhead and slammed down the phone
So we have to go back, along the freeway, back to pick up Kate's mum. We had sprayed the shit out of the car with bug spray, couldn't find the spider (if I was the spider I would have bolted after all the commotion in the first place). We were suprised that she just got in the car.
So I'm driving with a trailer behind (haven't driven with a trailer before) for the last 2 hours of the trip. We make it safe and sound.
So we're just in Geelong. Had Japanese for lunch today. Really did not do much else at all. Don't have any friends here in Geelong. I'm really nervous about the whole finding a job etc thing and also working in Melbourne and travelling from Geelong whilst we get sorted.
I'm just nervous because I just uprooted myself from my comfort zone into a whole new location, and I'm scared as shit.
Also, Adam B Metal was "asked to leave" Frankenbok, so there new album won't be coming out and I guess they will probably break up. Not siked on that news.
Built up quite a collection of street press and shit today, there's plenty of shows in the next month or so. Will be good when I have a nice pile of money. Would have kind of like to go to Bane/Break Even today, but it was not to be.
