things that can go wrong with a show
you don't get enough payers to cover costs
another band (from Dubai) in the same (small/underground) genre is playing, in a nearby location
the band doesn't rock up
you pack everything up
the band arrives
you tell them that they can't play
some kid asks for his money back (basically told him to get fucked...highlight of the night)
So yeah, last night, pretty much everything went wrong with the show. We had 17 payers, and Double Dragon got lost on the way, and didn't have a contact for me. So Punishment and Templestowe played, and we decided to pack everything up, then Double Dragon arrived. They looked absolutely fucked. They'd be driving since like 6am, which is pretty rough. So I was like "wanna come get drunk" and they were keen.
Dan Smiley bought me heaps of beer. This was good. We went to the lighthouse with our newfound friends Amy and Rosie, who were about to come in after Templestowe finished, and I advised them they would be better off spending their money on beer. Had a pretty good night, Dan Smiley kept buying jugs, I got so drunk really. The dudes from Double Dragon went and saw The Furor at the other show and said there would have only been about 20-30 payers at that show. So Wednesday night is not really a good option.
I went to work with a giant hangover. Struggled through a couple of tours and came back home. Went to lunch with Dad over in Dickson. Wasn't heaps good. We went to The East Kitchen. It was alright, I was just kinda disappointed.
But anyway, last night was at first bad, but then good fun. And no one threatened to kill me or anything when I couldn't pay them, so that's good too!
