Dad and I went up to visit Roy, who is our next door neighbour, and has been since I we moved to Bega when I was 6, in hospital. He seems to be on the mend, Dad was saying a while ago that they didn't think he had long left, which made me quite sad.

It was good to see him being his humourus old self today though. I didn't really know what to expect, I thought in might be a fair bit heading towards just being a vegetable, but he was awaking and talking to his wife Betty, who seems to have aged a lot lately. But anyway, Roy was all like "they were looking inside my head for a brain, but all they found was a tumour" and things like that. It's really good that he's in good spirits. He's all like "I'll be back out there, me and you can go chase girls together". Definitely a good dude.

Dad had to buy something at mitre 10 afterwards, so I dropped in and saw Trent, and we arranged that tomorrow night = drinks + mastodon = win. I got a call from Leon when I got home, and I'll probably pop in and see him at some stage tomorrow. Grandpa comes down tonight, and I have to drive him out to Middle, so I'll pop by on the way back through Tathra. My sister Alison is also involved in some sort of firetwirling thing, so I will go and check that out as well.

Annoyed with myself about forgetting shred shorts and shoes, but oh well. I played today, with this pair of shoes that I wore a lot about 3 years ago, and they are looking well worn, but I think I will wear them for the rest of the trip, because the other shoes stain my socks, and that's annoying to the max. Anyhow, had a bit of a kick. It was kind of like playing wearing shoes made from sandstone blocks. I saw it though, instead of being a hinderance, more like being resistance training, where you train in a harder area, to make the real deal much easier. So we'll see how that all works out. Also, I got props from a group of passers-by, including this dude that punched me in the face one time in my earlier days. Skatepark incidents- good times.

So I have a fairly full day ahead of me tomorrow. Don't know if I will bother going in the water at Middle tomorrow, I'm thinking no. Possibility of having a small kayak paddle, if Grandpa is keen, but we'll see what happens. Fear Factory in Sydney on saturday. I will be very pleased if they play Self Bias Resistor and Resurrection. Those two songs are two of the best songs, ever. That would make it awesome.

I think I may have even got a little sunburnt today.
