this song's about dying. We're a positive band, here to make you happy

last night was fucking good. Really, really fucking good. During the week I was kinda contemplating not going, mainly due to my financial situation. Sooo glad that I did. It was awesome.

Hard Luck kicked things off, I was kinda tired at this point, so just sat and watched them. I couldn't see properly, but I don't think there was much of a pit for them, which is kind of suprising.

Before they played Kate was all "no one should be here that hasn't been listening to Ringworm for at least a year". Morgan pointed out to her that a majority of people who go to all the shows in Canberra (including her), should simply leave because they don't make the cut. I also pointed out the fact that I pretty much don't listen to Ringworm at all.

So anyway, ....Dead were up next. I wasn't really willing to believe that they were actually playing until they took the stage, so when they came on stage it was like YAY! I busted a little footbag run in the pit, it was pretty basic. Though I tried one and dropped it early on, so I picked it up and hit something like legover>clipper>mirrage>clipper>butterfly>clipper and finish on ducking clipper.

Next up was The Dead Walk!, which was awesome fun, though I still haven't got their new album yet, but they still played plenty of old stuff. There was some massive pile-ons (as always) and I got a couple of mic grabs. They finished their set, then ended up playing the cover of fight your right, and that was crazy. Pretty much every person in the room knew the words and was trying to get to the mic to sing along. I was pretty much satisfied to go home after this but there was still Ringworm to come.

Someitme during The Dead Walk I had a missed call from Sam, and messaged her from Paddy's phone. I need to get Sam's number from my phone, and it was in one of those "yeah this phone doesn't work" phases, so I simply threw it at the ground and everyone looked at me funny. But it worked fine after that.

So Sam came along and I decided to stay outside with her, as I still had a perfect view of the stage, which was nice. Just as Sam was walking towards the bar, the window just goes SMASH, and that was pretty crazy. I couldn't help do anything but just laugh. Ringworm played for a well while, and they were so metal. I was talking to Sean before the set and he's like "man, these guys just look so metal, this is going to be awesome". And they were really, really good. They were the kind of metal band that your head just kinda gets thrown back a little and you go "that was fucken heavy". Sam even said they were good. Yay!

So we're sitting outside and cuddling and this crazy lady is all like "so how long have you been together? Is it just tonight...you look so cute together" and we were just like "urrrrr....ummmm...urrr....we just broke up yesterday".

So after the show went round and said some goodbyes, and Sam came back here and we cuddled for a while. And I said to her "do you think this is a strange way to break up?" She agreed. I think since we broke up, we've been concentrating on what we actually like/miss about the other person, rather than what gives us the shits. But...it's a strange way to go about the break-up ordeal, but probably a good way.

So don't know what the plan is for today and tonight. I have some uni, and I may go to the bar later on with Ben, not sure on that one.

the dead walk, hardcore, hard luck, ringworm, shows, metal, good times, ....dead
