The Well of Fabulousness
Calling all New Yorkers and anyone lucky enough to be in fair Gotham this week:
Leonard Fox Rare Books (790 Madison, btwn 66th & 67th) is exhibiting a series of illustrations by the art deco painter Gerda Wegener. The exhibit runs through this Wednesday only. It's a must see if no other reason than the fun you can have trying to figure out which paintings feature her husband as a transvestite model. Well, pre-op MTF model, actually. Einar/Lili was one of the first to undergo transgender surgery.
