New York: Culture Capital of the World
New York City's subway cars are decorated with placards which feature edumacated reading. These uplifting pearls of wisdom were pioneered in the London tube and were first sponsored in New York by The Poetry Society of America. Now, call me silly, but did someone in the MTA really think New Yorkers wanted to ride their subways and read inspirational works regarding cockroaches? Though what a change from the '80s, when subway placards proclaimed las cucarachas entran, pero no puedan salir!
