New York City's subway cars are decorated with placards which feature edumacated reading. These uplifting pearls of wisdom were pioneered in the London tube and were first sponsored in New York by The Poetry Society of America. Today, the signs are sponsored by Jeopardy, a Merv Griffin production. Dead Closet Qveen, Dahlink. Anyway this past season are subway cars were decorated with the following Kafka Quote:

Gregor Samsa awakes one morning in his family's apartment to find himself inexplicably transformed overnight into a gigantic insect.

Now, call me silly, but did someone in the MTA really think New Yorkers wanted to ride their subways and read inspirational works regarding cockroaches? Though what a change from the '80s, when subway placards proclaimed las cucarachas entran, pero no puedan salir!
