So tomorrow are the auditions for my three projects for the Arts Fund, and I'm really excited. My teacher said she e-mailed every actor in the state that she could think of, and I've already gotten a bunch of replies from people that are coming. The group that was doing one of the five pieces for this thing dropped out last week, and the other production already has all of their talent, so basically there's a six hour casting call just for me. This rocks. I feel important.
This morning I went down to Special Projects ATL and toured the prop warehouse with my friend Nick, and they let us pick out all of the props we wanted, and they're renting them to us for free. Also, we have one of the best lighting designers in the state backing us up, and we're meeting with him on Thursday to go over the lighting plans and see what technical equipment we'll need. Between you and me, I have my eye on their nifty 30 ft. crane. That would totally rock if we could use that, but I'm afraid we couldn't get it into the theater where we're shooting.
I can't wait for Friday. It'll be the first time I get to direct a fairly large production with an actual "crew" and props and sets and real actors and whatnot. I feel like I should be nervous, but I'm not. I guess that's a good thing. Time will tell I suppose. Wish me luck everyone.
