Oh, Life
So I got my Pathfinder RPG book today. It totally rules. It's also the heftiest damn book in my RPG collection now. The thing is a monster. Also, sadly I only have Thursday and Friday off next week, so no game. :(
Speaking of work, I feel completely fed up with it. Enough that I contemplating just not showing up today. My co-workers are probably glad that I did, though, because one person showed up to work stoned and got sent home and suspended, while another didn't even bother to show up at all (and has been fired). That, and they didn't make enough food in prep this morning. And we got way more business than we were expecting. Not surprisingly, we had an average ticket time of 25 minutes (which is almost 15 minutes more than we should) for over an hour.
So how does the management respond? They're likely going to fire the guy who was running the line tonight. Yeah, they're pretty much scapegoating someone at random and firing them, and it was in no way his fault. Everyone was pissed over that. Also, everyone stayed way late (and pretty much everyone was helping me out in dish, where I was by myself because of the guy who didn't show up). I didn't get out until after midnight.
Also, apparently their policy on overtime now is that anyone who goes over doesn't just get their hours cut. They're now threatening to fire anyone who does. Lesson learned: trying to work stoned isn't cool, but it's even worse to be a hard worker. Seriously, I'm beginning to wonder if they're TRYING to run the place into the ground. I'd just quit now if I didn't need the money, and I'm not even sure if that's incentive enough to stay.
