I have a possible chance at a applications support job at the santa clara branch of my company.
Cons:
It's freaking *tech support*.
My shift would start at 8AM. Or 7AM if I wanted that instead.
The commute is further.
It would be a very very strict schedule - headset on at start of shift, specific lunch times, etc.
And...it's tech support.
Pros:
It would be a good line on my resume - I think.
It would get me out of the lab, mostly, and into dealing with customers/business side.
Apparently going into things like project management is not uncommon from this job.
It would pay about 11K more then I'm making.
The lunch program at the santa clara office is fairly nice.
Arguments with pros - sure, the manager says it's a good stepping stone into business side, project management, etc...but is it really? What if it means that I get stuck in tech support?
I don't know what to do. I just don't know. I don't know how to figure out if it really would be good for my career, hell, I don't know for sure what I want my career to be.
I have until monday to figure out if I want to pursue this further.
