The Christmas holiday went as good as I could've possibly hoped. Everyone loved their presents, the food came out pretty darn near perfect, we watched some classic movies and cuddled with the cats, and I didn't end up broke at the end of the week, so really I have no complaints. Now I just have my friend's belated Solstice party (it's later this year due to her family schedule), and off to heart surgery the very next day. All my labs are done and I'm about as prepped as I can be. Getting a little more nervous, but mostly just want to get it over with and relax at home for the rest of next week. A friend gave me a sizeable amount of book money, so I've already ordered ahead a few highly-recommended fantasy novels to start my downtime off right, along with some beading projects I will probably do propped up on the couch, when I'm able. I also picked up some new strings for my mom's guitar (the one she's had since high school, and just gave me last month). I want to string it well and make it sing again. But mostly, just looking at this next week as a way to rest, recoup, and restart my journey to a healthier me.
Wishing you a good rest of the week, and good things to come ahead!
