my students' test answers

My students were being tested on understanding feelings and emotions. The speaking test consisted of 5 questions out of 16. I would ask things like:

When are you angry?
When are you embarrassed?
When are you scared? etc.

I don't understand but several of my students respond with:

When are you angry? A: Hungry, very hungry

the best answers I got were:

When are you embarrassed? A: I was embarrassed when I saw a naked man.

When are you shocked? A: I was shocked when my friend is a lesbian, I find out.
