The preamble:
My folks are old school. Since they've retired, they've (my mom, mainly) forgot they were on the bleeding edge of 1980's technology as university educators and med school ref librarians. They were doing research on computers before gopher and mosaic. Now, they prefer to work their 50-acre Puget Sound farm.
So here I am all about the Internet, earning my living on the web, 1 million listeners to our radio show every month, and it doesn't impress them. But if I can show my mom a newspaper clipping mentioning me, she'll make fifty copies and snail mail it to all our relatives.

Where are they now? You have to scroll to the bottom, though. They profiled the radio show in 2002 and this is a sort of recap. At least we made the cut of 20 companies they followed up on, out of the 150 they profiled.
