Just missed the deadline for an assignment that counts for 25% of my current course. And why? because the fucking website is down.
Yeah, so I shouldn't have cut it so fine, submitting it 5 mins to midnight on D-day but I've was sick all last week so I didn't start until yesterday and only finished a few minutes ago.
It's crap anyway, I won't have got a good mark which makes me even more pissed off now I have to go through some crappy excuse-making form-filling process with the OU to try and get it marked when it's their fucking website going down that caused it.
I'm pissed of with the course anyway. My last one was quite fun, if very basic. But hey, it was only a level one course. Well this one is level 1 too, but it's shit.
It's based on 3 books which are actually very interesting so far. But the so called 'course material' is nothing more than a regurgitation of a few select chapters out of the books.
The tutor group I'm in are a bunch of miserable twats. They only ever use the forum when theres an assignment that requires they quote thier contribution to a group discussion. So they turn up, make one single post so they can quote it and then they fuck off again. There's a group exercise been going for 3 weeks and only 3 of us have taken part because it's doesn't count towards a marked assignment.
As for the assignments themselves, this one asked for three essays -but not really. The leave the subject line pretty open ended, such as the development of user interactivity (by which I'm guessing means development and theory of user interfaces - which theoretically you can trace back to the 1800's).
Well thats all well and good but then they give you a maximum word count of 500!!! Thats not even a single full page. Who the hell calls that an essay? Yet there's a mark of up to 45 points for this.
So we have to decide for ourselves what to cram into half a page from a so-called essay title that you could write a book about. Then somehow cover enough material to get a good chunk of those 45 points in just over half a page of text.
and we don't actually know what the tutors supposed to be looking for.
I suppose if I'd managed to look at it earlier I could have asked questions but it's still was a shit assignment to give out.
This is bollocks.
