Field Trip to the Japanese Embassy

This afternoon I get to run off to the Japanese embassy - for reasons that I can't really talk about, I need the Japanese National Police Agency to verify that I did not commit any criminal activity in Japan while I was living and working there.

The process doesn't seem too lengthy - embassy staff simply have to make me fill out some forms and fingerprint me. Good thing I've kept my Foreign Registration Card (aka gaijin card) and all the documents relating to my work visa and the re-entry permits. Should make finding me in the system a whole lot easier. Plus it helps that Megan and I actually paid our city taxes (at least the portion that covers the time that we were actually in Japan), unlike the majority of Japanese, who opt not to pay them, and then get upset when the municipalities file requirements-to-pay against their bank accounts...
